Depending on the type of electrode contacts that are used, the current will either be direct or alternating. This is determined by the shape of the coil and the material that are to be welded.
Portable welders that can work in high tensile environments are commonly known as MIG welders. These machines feature a special shearing attachment provided with the base and the feeders that are used for connecting and welding pieces of metal.
